As siren used to get out in Israel in the early hours of Saturday morning, Ift Benhim and his family fled to his basement.
“We closed the door, and suddenly there was such a big bounce,” she says. “I thought the whole house fell on us.”
When they emerged after minutes, they shattered their windows and scattered layers of dust and debris in the front room.
To the south of Tel Aviv, on his quiet suburban road in Rishon Lezian, the roofs of many houses came inside. The glass was cut on the road. At least 30 cars were badly damaged, of which windows and huge dents were.

It came out overnight amid six waves of Iranian attacks – launched in response to a large -scale Israeli airstrikes on Iran – which sent millions of people running for shelter.

A total of three people were killed across the country in an overnight attacks – two in Rishon Lezian, one of the nearby city Ramat Gana. About 76 were injured.
But destruction – even in these worst areas – is limited compared to what has been seen in Iran.
Israel’s “Operation Rising Lion” began on Friday with the assassination of senior Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists. It has affected Iran’s nuclear features, missile sites, air rescue, military bases, an airport and other infrastructure.
Iran’s UN envoy said on Friday night that 78 people were killed at that time. On Saturday, an Iranian Health Ministry official said that around 800 people were injured.
Iranian State Television reported that 60 people – 29 children – were killed on an Israeli strike on a block of flats in the capital Tehran.
In Rishon Lezian, not far from the worst hit homes, someone wrote a question in a layer of dust on the car windscreen: “Jabout?”
This struggle can be less than 48 hours old – but this is a question that the world is now asking.
