Frisco, Texas – Geno Thaitikul KPMG Women’s PGA went to the fifth green after a double bogie in the first round of the Championship, reminiscent of herself to be patient and some missed shots are about to be.
“Major, you are going to remember anyway,” Thaitikul said, which is number 2 in the female world rankings. “A way to bounce back, this is more important.”
Thaitikul certainly discovered a warm way in a hot and air on Thursday, which ended with 4-under 68 for a one-stroke lead on Minaji Li (69). Haren Rio, Rio Tekida and Somi Lee all shot 70.
The hole on the hole was equal only for Thaitikul, before it made five birdies in a six-stretch, with 60-footers on the eighth hole cross-3 in the middle of three in a row.
“My vessel was actually well gone,” said 22 -year -old from Thailand, who is seeking its first major title. “We had a lot of wind blowing in the front nine, and more than nine, but like (made) put 7, 8, 9, which enhances confidence, which bends nine back.”
Thaitikul, who lives in the Dallas region, required only 25 puts in the fields farm in PGA Fisco. It is measured 199 1/2 feet.
Thaitikul played with top ranked Nelly Corda (72) and No. 3 Lidi (75).
Corda, who re -combined the neck injury with a shot with someone during an exercise round on Monday, opened with seven consecutive purses in a round with two shovedies and two bogies. KO 513-yard, Par-5 was the only one in the group to make a shirt in the hole, but did not make the rest day.
While Corda said she does not feel the shots of the pain killing, the two -time Major Champion said that she had her neck’s “with rotation” pain and it is difficult to be comfortable to sleep at night.
“It’s better, yes. Every day is getting better, which is good,” he said. “Just because I was injured last year, whenever I injure my neck, it takes a little longer than normal. … Just takes me to recover like a week when I make my neck twinkle.”
Corda opened with seven pars, including 317-yard, Para-4 seventh hole, where he hit a 294-yard drive in a green small valley. From there, her initial pitch dropped from the green edge and where she was, rolled back under the slope. Corda hit her next shot for 2 feet.
This fifth hole for Thitkul began with a drive and a punishment. His Bird Strike began with a long time at number 7 with about 18-foot at the eighth. She rolled into a 35–foot Birdi at number 17, and just missed the 434-yard, par-4 on the 18th to make more than one and more than one.
Two -time prominent winner Lee, a 29 -year -old Australian, has not won since 2023. He opened with a bogey on Thursday and finished with two bogey in the last three holes. In the middle, he made seven birdies.
“I think they were very soft bogies. … Well, on 16, it was a bit soft and obviously the first hole is an equal 5. I should make at least a Birdi or equal,” Lee said. “Obviously there will be bogies, but I think for me, I just try to be patient. If I make a bogie, I just try to return it with something better than this. Can’t find ahead of myself, especially in such a season. I think it’s just summer that is focusing on you.”
Lee bogged the 425-yard 12th hole, where he moved to the right rough and from there to the left. He exploded 5 1/2 feet from a bunker and saved equal on par-3 13th and in the first round there were continuous Birdies to be less than the lowest-5. Then came his heavenly bogies, killed 7-foot equal missing on 16th and killed his vision in a bunker on 18th.
