Addressing the controversy over her absence during the floods, she said, “Whatever controversy is going on is politically motivated. I was in Mumbai for just two days, and this happened in between.”
Reacting to the discontent expressed by former CM Jairam Thakur, she said, “Jairam Thakur is a respected leader, and his comments have been misinterpreted. I’ve also spoken to him personally.”
“Will Bring Maximum Funds for Mandi”
The BJP MP added that she will bring maximum funds for Mandi. Ranaut said that she will demand a special package from the central government.
“I’ve informed the Prime Minister’s Office about the damage in Himachal. I will try my best to bring as much funding as possible to help the state recover from this disaster.”
Defending her absence further, Kangana said that she visited Lahaul Spiti a few days ago and that it’s not possible for an MP to be present everywhere.
“It’s not possible for a Member of Parliament to be present in every assembly segment. Just a few days ago, I visited Lahaul-Spiti. We’re consistently bringing development funds from the central government,” she said.
Kangana Ranaut expressed deep concern over the calamity in Mandi and said that the region is facing a serious crisis and that multiple cloudbursts have occurred, areas are waterlogged, and roads and communication routes are damaged. She also said that there have been reports of damage in regions such as Siraj, Thunag, Karsog, and Nachan. The Lok Sabha MP added that the administration is closely monitoring the situation and relief and rescue operations are in full swing.
MP’s Team on the Ground
Kangana stated that her team has been actively working on the ground, and she will soon visit the affected areas to assess the damage and ensure necessary assistance reaches the victims.
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh LoP and former CM Jairam Thakur said that Ranaut will discuss the losses in the area in the Lok Sabha during the monsoon session.
“…Today, MP Kangana Ranaut visited the area and took stock of the situation. As an MP from Mandi, she will discuss the losses in this area that occurred due to floods in the Lok Sabha, given it is the monsoon session… It is our responsibility to ensure that the central government provides more assistance, and the state government should offer support to the affected people through this assistance. And we will all work towards it…,” Thakur said.
