We have two important questions. First of all (Kath voice on): does it make me a crim to keep myself trim? And secondly, did you realise it’s been 23 years since the fateful day Kath & Kim first hit screens back in 2002?
In the name of good old Aussie nostalgia, we’re taking a look back at the questionable but iconic looks the cast served on the show, before checking out where they’re at today…
So whether you’re a housewife, a hornbag, or just (like us) a hardcore Kath & Kim fan, you’re in for a real treat…
Jane Turner (Kath Day-Knight)
Were we devastated to see that Jane Turner doesn’t embrace Kath’s curly crop in her real life? Yeah, a bit! But honestly, she’s clearly mastered a creamier shade of blonde outside of the show – sorry Kath, we know you said your hair was your crowning glory, but your Fountain Lakes colourist’s work always looked a bit brassy! Jane’s go-to makeup tones are clearly far chicer outside of the show too, that’s for damn sure.
Gina Riley (Kim Craig nee Day)

What, no front fringe?! Gina Riley prefers a swoopier side bang outside of playing Kim, also now embracing a more highlighted bronde hair colour. We must say she’s got a very enviable glow going on these days – looks like Gina is ‘effluent’ enough to afford regular facials! And she clearly isn’t a ‘stewpid girl’ based on the salons/skin care she’s selecting. Radiant!
Magda Szubanski (Sharon Strzlecki)

There’s no doubt that Magda Szubanksi is the show’s most iconic and beloved character. Anyone who can rock a bowl cut like her deserves global glory. However, there’s no doubt that Magda (who has given her infamous red wig credit for helping to ‘create’ the character of Sharon) is stunning without it. Unfortunately Magda shared via a May 2025 Instagram post that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 Mantle Cell Lymphoma, so we’re wishing her the absolute best with her recovery.
Glenn Robbins (Kel Knight)

When Gen Z talk about hating side fringes, we’re pretty certain (or at least hopeful) they’re talking specifically about this one. Glenn Robbins was hilarious as Kel, and we appreciate the sacrifice he made gelling his hair within an inch of its life for our enjoyment. He’s gone down a silver fox path since, and it’s a definite improvement. We only have one word to say: spunk!
Peter Rowsthorn (Brett Craig)

Wait, was Brett googling ‘how to smooth your skin’ during all those shifts at Computa City? Because honestly, we want to know Peter Rowsthorn’s topical routine after spying this recent snap. Maybe it was the fact his character worked at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts later in life, but we think Hailey Bieber has competition for the rise of the ‘glazed donut’ skin trend.
