A Maryland person who was accidentally given to Al Salvador and detained in one of the most notorious jails in that country was subject to “serious peat” and “torture”, accused in new court documents.
The 29 -year -old Kilmar Arebrego Garcia’s lawyers alleged that the attack from the guard left him with injuries visible within a day of coming to the Sekot Jail.
The Trump administration had earlier alleged that Mr. ábrego Garcia was a member of the Salvadorian Gang, MS -13, which was strongly denied by his lawyers and family.
While the officials initially said that Shri Arebrego Garcia could never return to America, in June he was extradited to face human trafficking charges in Tennessee – in which he requested not to be guilty.
According to the new court documents filed on Wednesday, his wife filed as part of a case against the Trump administration, Shri Arebrego Garcia and 20 other detainees were repeatedly beaten when they arrived at the imprisonment center of Al Salvador terrorism, or secot.
Once, according to the documents, Sri Arebrego Garcia and 20 other deported prisoners were limited to the “metal bunk, with no congested cells with no windows, no mattresses with shiny lights, which remained 24 hours a day, and minimal access to cleanliness”.
Shri Arebrego Garcia has also alleged that he and other prisoners were forced to kneel from 9 pm to 6 pm, “with the guard who fell from tiredness”.
At one point, the guard allegedly threatened to limit him with gang members, which would “tear” him separately.
According to the complaint, he lost 30LBS (14 kg) within the first two weeks of his dislocation in Al Salvador due to his misconduct.
Al Salvador President Naib Bukele has earlier stated that his country’s jails are “clean, systematic, free from abuses, uneven situations, peat or murders”.
During a visit to the White House earlier this year, he expressed support for the exile agenda of the Trump administration.
The Trump administration, while overseeing the case to dismiss the case with the federal judge in Maryland, said that it was argued that Shri Arebrego Garcia had overtaken the incidents after Garcia returned to the US. The lawsuit was filed by the wife of Mr. ábrego Garcia after his exile.
Shri Arebrego Garcia first entered the US illegally in 2011 and was provided with exile by an immigration judge in 2019 as it was determined that if he returned to his original El Salvador, he could face a danger from the gang.
But in March 2025, a resident of Maryland was deported and was initially held at Socot Mega-Jail in El Salvador, in which the Trump administration officials later admitted. A judge ordered the government to “convenient” its return, but the White House officials initially refused to bring it back.
After his return to face allegations in June, Attorney General Palm Bondi stated that “it resembles American justice”.
He has denied any wrongdoing, and his lawyers have called the allegations of smuggling “preceding”.
At the end of June, a federal judge in Tennessee ruled that Mr. ábrego Garcia deserve the release, but he was in jail for fear from his legal team that he can be re -exiled if he leaves the facility.
