“There is only one relationship that really matters,” a senior government person told me in the middle of the terrible week of Labor, where ministers lost control of their backbengers.

“This is one with voters.” Well, enough.

And that relationship has become sour since the labor has been in power. The party can forget the party after days of coverage around an anniversary in Westminster, but what is the situation of that important relationship?

We assembled a group of 2024 voters of labor together, according to those who have the most mean – the public.

Our participants were from two constituencies in Kent: Dartford and Graveshum. Both seats were won by Labor on the major days of July 2024, thanks to not only the Labor’s campaign, but also for the collapse of conservative vote. And the swing was about 20%for the party of the Sir Kir Stmper at both places.

Our panel was chosen by the political research group, more generally, and the questions were asked not by me, but by its director, Luke Trell.

It is also worth knowing that when our panels were recruited, they were not told that they would be asked about politics.

This can be for any other market research practice, to wash powder or water bills, instead of doing anything with Westminster – so it was not a meeting of political addicts.

But our groups, who had last voted labor, certainly a strong understanding was what happened to the government that they had chosen twelve months ago, and it was not very beautiful.

First of all, we asked the group about our impression of the first year of labor, overall.

One of the most used words, and most frequently used, was “disappointed”.

“I have always been labor, but I expected a lot from him,” Yate, who said 57 and a nutritionist. “I thought they would be there for people.”

Kelly is 35, and a house living in a house. She was disappointed by what she sees as a lack of progress on immigration. Kelly said, “Whatever he promised, nothing has come yet.” “Immigration is a big deal for me.”

Adam is an Illustrator of 37 years of age. He was forgiving a little more about Sir Kir’s problems: “They are patching things, the first year is not the year to pursue big ideas, let’s stabilize the ship.”

But the 30 -year -old Sodik, who owns his own business, said the labor was not completely straight to what its plans were to be started.

“I think a lot of things that were promised were never going to happen,” Sodik said.

Kirsti, who belongs to 35 and a teacher, also told us, “I think it’s lying”.

What is about the chaos of Parliament this week, and there are many changes in the direction of the labor because they are in the office? The group had certainly seen what happened in the last seven days, it would not always happen when it comes to Xinigam in SW1.

Veronica, who took 64 -year -old care, saw the tears of the Chancellor and had some sympathy.

“I think she is trying his best – the initial problems are going to be, this is only the first year.” But he said, “Crying in the Commons on the second day and Kir Star also did not notice, but everyone else did? Ever think, ‘Is this pressure for him?” ,

Helle, who is a personal assistant, was also suspected that Sir Kir did not notice, but the government is worthy of more time.

“You can’t score the country in a year,” said 40 -year -old.

But it was clear that the group had reservation about the frequent situation of labor – whether it was on welfare this week, or before winter fuel.

Praising Sir Kir to listen, Adam said: “What happened this week – another U -turn – was worrisome, it pushes the idea that there is no direction.”

Yweet said “If he takes a decision, he should stand by it”, the change of heart was like “Lastminute.com”.

Improvement in general elections was major changes towards the UK, even if they do not win the dartford or grave seats.

But one of the 10 councils Kent was Faraj’s party controlled the local elections in May this May.

The progress of improvement has certainly seen. Kelly said: “They are removing figures and removing other things – they are doing things, and are active.”

Given how the national elections are improving, continuously further than other political parties, it was no surprise that some groups were thinking about giving Nigel Faraz a chance next time.

“If there was an election yesterday, I would have voted for him,” Yitve said, suggesting that he should be given a chance, even if “a lot of bad things about him are said”.

But Sodik said: “I am at the other end of the scale. He is a politician, like others, who say that people want to hear, and people are usually not comfortable with two main parties, and just want to try something else.”

Labor is concerned with his serious condition in elections, and how unstable things have happened in the last few weeks, there is also a sense of shock to some extent.

But at senior levels, sources believe that if they continue, finally, many voters such as we met at the end of this week, if NHS and economy are expected to improve the expectations, they will return them.

Of course it is only in the mind of some voters in two constituencies, its taste is only one taste, but the mood was certainly disappointed what is, and it did not happen because the labor returned to power. But there was an understanding, there was a serious desire among these labor voters to give more time to Sir Kir and the government.

After twelve months, labor is definitely down, but not necessarily out.
