Labour wins Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse by-election

Davi Russell is chosen as Labor MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonhouse

Scottish Labor contested from SNP to Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse in a close election.

The party’s Davi Russell won the SNP with a 602 majority, with 8,559 votes.

Vote followed the death of SNP MSP Christina McKelvi, who had represented the constituency since 2011.

Scottish labor leader Anas Sarwar said that his party had “proved the Pollsters wrong”.
