Greater Noida Society News: Incidents of lift malfunctions continue to spark fear among residents of high-rise societies in Greater Noida West. In the latest such case, a 65-year-old woman was trapped in a lift for nearly 30 minutes late at night in the La Residentia society, causing her health to deteriorate.
The woman, Rita Srivastava, who lives in Tower-26, Flat No. 903 of La Residentia, was heading downstairs around 10 PM on Sunday when the lift stopped abruptly a few floors below. Despite pressing the lift alarm and calling for help repeatedly, there was no response for a long time.
Lift’s Anti-Rescue System Failed
Adding to the concern, the lift’s anti-rescue system reportedly failed completely, leaving the woman helpless inside. When she did not return for a long time, her family began searching for her and discovered she was stuck in the lift. Only after the builder management was informed did rescue efforts begin.
By the time the maintenance team managed to extract her from the lift, her condition had worsened. Rita, who already suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes, experienced severe discomfort during the ordeal.
Residents of La Residentia expressed anger over the repeated lift failures, alleging negligence on the part of the builder in maintaining essential safety equipment. They claimed that such incidents occur frequently but no concrete steps have been taken to rectify the issues.
The residents have now warned that if the lift safety mechanisms are not repaired promptly, they will be forced to stage a protest. The recurring malfunctions have left the community anxious and demanding immediate accountability from the builder.
