Orlando, Fla. – Alex is leaving his role as CEO of Martins Magic On 1 July, the team announced on Wednesday to go to the new position of the Vice Chair as part of the restructuring of the front office.
Martins will be the senior advisor to the board of directors of the team.
“Since joining the team in 1989, Alex’s commitment to excellence has revered him as an extraordinary leader in our organization and Orlando community,” said Magic President Dan Davos. “When Alex communicated his intention of retiring several years ago, our family decided to make a new role taking advantage of his experience.”
Martins had spent the last 14 years as CEO.
“Leading magic as CEO has been one of the biggest blessings of my life,” he said.
There will not be a CEO in the place of Martins. Chairman of Magic Business Operations, Charlie will oversee several departments including Ticket sales, global participation, arena operations, philanthropy, finance, human resources, communication and broadcasting.
Ryan Davos, who is a magic executive for the last eight years, will become the managing director. The team stated that the Coal Davos would move to Orlando at the beginning of the 2025-26 season and “A full-time management will be attached to the development program,” the team said.
Jeff Veltman remains as the magic president of basketball operations, all oversee programs related to basketball and report directly to the board of directors.
