On Sunday, police said that they had found a deserted car associated with a suspect in Sibli County from about 50 miles (80 km) from the murder scene.

The discovery of the black sedan was alerted for the mobile phones of the local residents in a message stating: “Not suspicious. Keep your doors closed and protect the vehicles.”

A cowboy cap, which was similar to the 57 -year -old Boleter, was believed to have been found nearby.

Police also said on Sunday that Bolter’s wife was detained in a traffic stop with three relatives in a car in a car over 100 miles from the family house in the rural community of Green Isle on Saturday morning.

Officials said they recovered a target list, including the names of Minnesota Democratic politicians from another vehicle used by the suspect.

Governor Tim Walz, Congresswoman Ilhan Umar, Clobachar and another American Senator, Tina Smith, were in the list – with the state’s Attorney General Keith Ellison, people familiar with the investigation told the local media.

Investigators say the Boleter was disguised as a police officer when he carried out the attacks and had a vehicle that looked like a police car, which was equipped with emergency lights.

Officials said the gunman targeted Hoffman at his home in Champlin at around 02:00 on Saturday.

Soon after, Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot dead at her house at Brooklyn Park, eight miles away.
