Multiverse Computing raises $215M for tech that could radically slim AI costs

Multiverse Computing raises 5M for tech that could radically slim AI costs

On Thursday, Spanish Startup Multivars Computing Announced This picked up a huge series B round of € 189 million (approximately $ 215 million) on the strength of a technology, which he calls “CompactFi”.

CompactFi is a quantum-computing induced compression technique capable of reducing the size of LLM by 95% without affecting model performance, the company says.

In particular, the multivors offers compressed versions of the famous open source LLM-It is small model-like Lama 4 scoutLama 3.3 70B, Lama 3.1 8B, Mistral Small 3.1However, it will soon release a version of Dipsek R1, in which more open sources and logic models are coming soon. Openai and others ownership models are not supported.

It is a “slim” model, as the company calls them, available on Amazon web services or can be licensed for on-rich uses. The company says that its models are not comparable-4x-12x faster than compared to conceived versions, translating a 50% -80% decrease in estimated costs. For example, Multivars say Its Lama 4 Scout Slim is 10 cents per million tokens at AWS as compared to 14 cents of the Lama 4 scout.

The company says that some of its models can be made so small and energy efficient, they can be run on PCs, phones, cars, drones and even DIY-enthusiast favorite small PCs, Raspberry Pie. (We are suddenly imagining those fictional raspberry pie Christmas-light houses that are upgraded with LLM-Interactive Talking Santas.)

Multivars may have some technical. It was co-established by CTO Roman Orus, Professor of Donostia International Physics Center at San Sebastian, Spain. Oruz is known to him Leading work on tensor network (Not confused with all AI-related things called Tensor in Google).

Tenser networks are computational devices that mimic quantum computers but run on classic computers. These days one of their primary uses is compression of deep learning models.

Multivars co-founder and CEO, Enrique Lizaso Olmos, also holds several mathematical degrees and has been a college professor. He spent most of his career in banking, which is best known as the former Deputy CEO of Unnim Bank.

Leading of series B with companies like Bulhound Capital (including Spotify, Revolut, Deliverhhero, Avito, Discord -HP Tech Tech Ventures, SET, ForgePoint Capital International, CDP Venture Capital, Capital, Capital VC, Toshiba and Capital Riesgo de Euskadi – Grupo is accompanied by participation of spr.

Multivars say it has 160 patents and 100 customers globally, including Eberdrola, Bosch and Bank of Canada. With this funding, it has raised about $ 250m to date.
