Naushad Mosa has extended its contract with Northeast United FC by 2027 and has been appointed as the technical director of the club.

The Indian Super League (ISL) Side Northeast United FC (NEUFC) announced that Naushad Mosa has extended its contract, achieving its presence in the club by the end of the 2027 season. The 53 -year -old Moosa, who first served as the assistant coach of the first team and the head coach of the reserve team, has been appointed as the technical director of the Northeast United FC.
This change in the role of Moosa will enable the current India U-23 men’s national team coach to focus more on youth development, which will dedicate extra time to the club’s reserve team with the duties of their national team. As a technical director, MOOSA will lead the club’s reserve team, overseeing the youth development structure in the Northeast United FC, focusing on creating a strong route for young players to ensure long -term stability and success for the club’s ground level and developmental programs.
Mosa, a former India International, has played an important role in the recent young-level achievements of the club. Under his leadership, the reserved team won the prestigious Sikkim Governor Gold Cup, ending as runners -up in the 70th Bharat Ratna Lokpriya Gopinath Boardoloi Trophy, and reached the National Group stage of Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL).
Mandar Tamhane, CEO of Northeast United FC, emphasized the important role of Mosa in the club’s youth development program. He said, “As a technical director, MOOSA will play an important role in shaping our youth development program. His continuous participation with our reserve team allows him to nurture the talent of the future of the future, while fulfills its responsibilities with the national side, especially with the 2026 Asian Games and AFC U-3 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Considering the renovation of its contract, Mosa expressed, “It matters a lot for me to stay in this club for one and two years. This place has become like another house, people, supporters, employees, it is just more than football, it’s a family. It’s an incredible journey, and I am grateful to stay part.”
Regarding his new role as a technical director, MOOSA shared his readiness for the next chapter, seen it as an opportunity to impress youth development significantly. He said, “Step in the role of a technical director is a new challenge, and one that I take with real pride. It is a big responsibility, but also a chance to give back to a club that has given me a lot. I am doing everything that I can help in shaping the future, support players and coaches, and ensure that we move forward in the right direction.”
