Three times Indycar Champion and current championship leader, Alex Palou shared that he believes that it was his fault, lost him in the race.
Sitting on the pole at the beginning of the mid-ohio race, Palu led comfortably for the majority of the race, but a late mistake of nine on the grass allowed his chip Ganasi team partner Scott Dixon to go into the past and take an edge.
After deciding to go for a two-stop strategy, Dixon became an external opportunity to win. However, it was clear that Palu’s speed to compete with Dixon was very high.
However, it seemed too much for Palu himself and Dixon used his experience to defend the spaniard in the past for the last remaining intervals of the race.
Speaking later, Palu said: “[It] Honestly, there was only one stupid mistake. My mistake from my side.
“Everyone did a wonderful job on the pit stops and strategies [and] We were really walking well, but just lost it a little on entry and then that kind of power could not work.
“It is useless, it hurts clearly [but] It is still a good day, but it hurts to lose like this. At least we got this in the team so that they could feel proud of their work. ,
Dixon’s victory meant that he was the third separate winner of the 2025 season, but even more importantly, Palu’s mistake did not lose the overall victory for Chip Ganasi.
Although Palu would be angry with mistake, he moved away from the weekend with a net profit at the championship on Kyle Kirkwood, his nearest rival.
Behind Andreti’s wheel, Kirkwood struggled to match Palu at the speed of all weekends and knocked out of the qualifying by Chip Ganasi driver, Kyphin Simpson.
At the seventh place on the grid, Kirkwood came to the eighth place in eighth place, forgot to American, but also the beginning of its championship expectations.
Before mid-ohio, Palu is under 100 points, the interval has felt for 113 points between two drivers that all Palu needs to keep it straight.
However, as shown today, Palu does not drive with caution.
