NYC Mayorl candidate Zoharan Mamdani released a statement on Tuesday, when President Donald Trump said his administration would have to arrest Mamdani if he prevents NICE from doing his work as NYC mayor. Mamdani has won Democratic Primary and will face the general election in November. Trump who condemned Mammadani deeply and called him a frightening and a communist was answering a question on Mamdani’s election promise that he would not allow him to arrest the snow and deport new Yorkers. “Okay, we just have to arrest him. Look, we do not need a communist in this country, but if we have one, I am looking very carefully from the nation. We send money to him, we send him all the things that they need to run the government and by the way, they already meet three times that you get. If you look at per capita, Florida gets one third that New York gets, “Trump said that he hosted an immigration roundateable at the New Florida Detention Facility.“Many people are saying that he (Mamdani) is illegally here. You know that we are going to see everything. And ideally, he is going to be much less than a communist, but he is a communist right now. It’s not a socialist,” said Trump.
‘We will not accept this intimidation’
Mammadani said in his statement, “The President of the United States threatened to arrest me, snatched my citizenship, put it in a preventive camp and deported. Not because I have broken any law, but because I would refuse snow to terrorize my city.” “His statements do not just represent an attack on our democracy, but every New Yorker is an attempt to send a message that refuses to hide in the shadow: if you speak, they will come for you.”
Row on Mamdani’s citizenship
Many Republican pushed Mamdani’s citizenship to cancel as he became only American citizens in 2018. But Mamdani is a legal citizen who came to America in 1998 when he was seven years old.Earlier, Trump had threatened that he would cut federal money in New York if Mamdani becomes Mayor and does not cooperate with his administration.
