Mekartney Casler claimed his first Grass-Court WTA tour title with a 6-4 7-5 win over Dayana Yastrimca in the rain-affected Nottingham Open final.
The 25 -year -old American was at the first set of taking the first set – 5–4 leading with a break – when the cover was covered in court.
Once again after a long delay, Casler picked up, from where he left because he had wrapped the opening set before receiving the break in the seventh game of another, which had definitely seen him to take the match.
But Ukraine’s Yastrimca sought its first WTA title since 2019, fought again, then saved five match points, then before serving in level matters in the second set of Caslers.
However, Casler kept it calm to get immediate benefits, breaking Yastrimca once again before serving the title to seal the title.
This was an impressive achievement by Caslers, especially when he won his first career Grass-Returning in Queen a week earlier.
