Pakistan has announced a plan to nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing the role that Islamabad says he helped to interact with India and Pakistan last month.
On X, the Pakistani government stated that Trump “recently entitled to the award in his decisive diplomatic intervention and important leadership during the Indo-Pakistan crisis”.
India has denied the service of the US as a mediator to end the fight last month, and says it does not want any diplomatic intervention from any third party.
Trump has often suggested that he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize, whose winner will be named in October this year.
In May, Trump made a surprising announcement of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan four days after the fight between the nuclear-head neighbors.
The Pakistan government said in its post in early Saturday: “President Trump performed great strategic foresight and stellar states through strong diplomatic association with both Islamabad and New Delhi, which increased the rapid deteriorating situation.
“This intervention stands as a will for his role as a real peacemaker.”
There was no immediate response to Washington or New Delhi.
Trump repeatedly stated that India and Pakistan ended the struggle after the ceasefire by the US, and also that they used business as a liver to agree.
Pakistan has confirmed American statements about the ceasefire broker, but India has denied it.
Last month, Trump said that he told India and Pakistan that a ceasefire was necessary for him to maintain trade with the US.
“I said,” Come on, we are going to do a lot of business with you guys [India and Pakistan]Let’s stop this, “he told reporters.
In Pakistan’s Parliament, former chairman of the Senate Defense Committee, Mushahid Hussain, praised Nobel Kadam.
“Trump is good for Pakistan,” he told Reuters. “If it panders for Trump’s ego, it should happen. All European leaders have been sucking it for a long time.”
But former Pakistan Ambassador to the US, Maliha Lodhi criticized the move as a “unfortunate”.
“A man who has supported the Israeli massacre war in Gaza and called Israel’s attack on Iran as ‘excellent’,” he wrote on X.
“It compromises our national dignity,” he said.
On Friday, Trump posted True social He helped in broker talks between many countries, but despite this: “No, I will not get the Nobel Peace Prize, no matter what I do.”
Trump entered the office to quickly eliminate the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Gaja wars, although peace deals in both conflicts have so far removed him.
He has often criticized Barack Obama for winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 after less than eight months as US President. In 2013, Trump called the Norwegian Nobel Committee to cancel the award.
