Ptham Nisanka’s unbeaten 146 made Sri Lanka 290/2 against Bangladesh on 2 of the second Test in Colombo.

In-form opener Patham Nisanka scored an unbeaten 146, which on Thursday tightened his grip to tighten his grip in the second Test against Bangladesh in Colombo.
Sri Lanka stumps were 290/2, with a lead of 43 runs, thanks to Nisanka’s sparkling knock from 238 delivery. It follows his career-Best score of 187 in the first Test in Galle, which ended in a draw.
Nisanka found a competent partner at former captain Dinesh Chandimal, who scored 93 runs before a lapse in the judgment, losing his wicket minutes before the stumps.
The pair put 194 runs together. Wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis said, “We are in a very good position. Tomorrow, we have to bat all day and a target for a 150 to 200 lead.”
“It is a shame that he missed a double hundred in Galle. I hope he would receive it here,” he said about Nisanka.
Disappointed with the inability to break through Bangladesh, resorted to negative lines and spread the fields, but Chandimal and Nisanka responded with a hurry of reverse sweep.
Nisanka’s early partner, Lahiru Udara, was dismissed by a Taijul Islam Ball for 40, which laid its line.

Earlier, debut Sonal Dinusha took 3/22 as Sri Lanka dropped the visitors for 247.
