As a knife collector and stupid, I am somewhere around 100 pocket knives. Yes, this is a problem. But this also means that there are many designs that I have not seen before personally. Well, the color surprises me, because a relatively unknown brand hit me with a completely new concept.

Meet “Ghostclip”, a clever design by the upstart peak species at Miami. The wild design element is a pocket clip that nests in the knife handle when not in use. I would not say that this is the first time it has been – because clearly, it’s a big world – but it is the first time I have seen.

Why is this thing? Because when the knife is used regularly, the pocket clip may be uncomfortable on both hands and contact other objects that make it contact. This is a small detail, but an uncomfortable pocket clip has ruined the performance of many other excellent pocket knives.

Ghostclip essentially removes the pocket clip from the handle while using. The clip exits the handle when needed for in-packet carry. It works like this.

Ghostclip: A knife with a nesting pocket clip

If you look at the withdrawal pocket clip, GhostClip is a relatively benign pocket knife design. It comes in D2 or M390 steel. Both have a 2.9-inch modified lamb blade, liner lock and G10 handle. It is a popular flipper opening style and seems to have actually functioned as an EDC knife.

It also has a small key ring extension, which can be used as a primal tool or flat screwdriver.

But the conspiracy comes from the pocket clip. While I have not handled the knife, a video of the launch page of the brand deploys it with one hand. Press a button, and the clip pop out, ready to engage in a pocket. When using the knife, press the clip into the handle and it is flush.

The pocket clip appears to be available only in the right -handed versions. So the leftists will need to flip around the knife or take them to their nondominant side.

Again, I can definitely not say that this is the first time a brand has clipped a withdrawal pocket. But I have seen this first, and a quick Google search is nothing similar.

Will this pocket interrupt the knife world? I doubt somewhat, mostly because most pocket clips do not bother me so much. But still, this is a very good idea.

Yes, it adds another possible failure point and additional moving parts. But hey, a lot of pocket clips already become loose over time and the screws fall out. This can be a great design.

I have not seen it in a person yet. But it is a red little pocket knife that looks great. And the modified sheep has a wonderful and slightly unusual blade shape.
