- Shashi Tharoor said- Golwalkar was lacking in the constitution.
- RSS has changed now, their thinking can tell- Tharoor.
- Rahul Gandhi and Mayawati have already done a scathing attack on the Constitution.
Shashi Tharoor on RSS: These days, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor is said to be very angry with his party. Reason? After Operation Sindoor, his soft stand on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and central government decisions. His distance from the Congress high command is clearly visible and the party is also seen gradually shore them. Now Tharoor has come into the limelight by making a statement on another sensitive issue. He has given a big statement on the debate of ‘Manusmriti vs. Constitution’. Also, he has said that the Sangh i.e. RSS has now changed.
However, Tharoor told this statement from the point of view of history and added, “RSS has now moved forward with that thinking. He can tell what his thinking is today.” This balanced attitude of Tharoor has come when his party and the opposition are accusing the RSS and BJP of tampering with the Constitution.
RSS general secretary demands review of preamble
This debate was actually intensified when RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosbale spoke of reviewing the words ‘socialist’ and ‘secular’ added in the preamble of the Constitution. He said that these words were added during the Emergency when Parliament and the judiciary were inactive.
After Hosbale’s statement, Rahul Gandhi said, “The mask of RSS has come down again. He needs Manusmriti, not the constitution.” He alleged that “the words of equality, justice and secularism in the Constitution prick the Sangh.”
Mayawati’s warning: not tolerated tampering with constitution
BSP chief Mayawati also spoke to the press and said that “If the constitution is tampered with, BSP will take to the streets. We are keeping an eye on the streets.”
Why does this statement of Tharoor matters?
While the Congress is an attacker on RSS and BJP, Tharoor says that “the Sangh has now changed”. His statement is not only different from the party line, but also gives a different political indication. Is Tharoor slowly looking for a new role against his party? This question has now started echoing in the corridors of politics.
