The Muscatine police confirmed that there was no threat to the public.

The Muscatine Police wrote on Facebook, “Please avoid the fields of highways 61 and 38 as well as highways 61 and 2 Avenue. Also please avoid the Muscatine Highway Store, 2400 2nd Avenue.” “Emergency crew is on the scene. Please use alternative routes and allow respondents to work safely.”

Witness report:

A witness wrote on Facebook: “I was just in Muscatine when shooting at High-V here, the road has been blocked. Avoid if possible.”

Another couple: “There was one (shooting) in the Muscatine Highway !! I think people are saying that a girl was shot 7 times in customer service by a stocker !!!

A third person said: “I was just informed that there was a shooting in the highway in Muscatine. I believe a person was killed. Prayers to include everyone.”

Another person wrote: “I was out of there when the respondents were first responding and almost went to the highway, but decided to wait that I was right in Kos, but some asked me to go later.”
