Alex Ferrera said that he is the happiest and most grateful boy in the world. In the last winter season, the 30-year-old Half-Pipe Skier competed in seven different programs and podium on each.
Last year, he also said in seven competitions. Before that, he once podium. He is coming from a 15-podium line, who won the FIS Crystal Globe twice in a row and took the first time in the US Grand Prix this year.
Of course, he is also competing with the US Sky team at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games, which he said, his last time will compete as an Olympian. So he is putting it all on the line, with hard training and more discipline than ever.
“This is definitely the strongest I have ever felt [the Games]”He told Gearjanki.
The two -time Olympic medalist and the three -time X games come from the Gold Medalist Aspen, Kolo. Many people know them with their changes ego, Hotdog Hans – To throw down a crusty East Coast, senior sender that shows in ski resorts worldwide. Asked if Hans would make an appearance in the 2026 Games, Ferrera threw his head back and laughed.
“I want,” he said. “Perhaps he will make an appearance on the following one, when ‘Alex’ is not competing.”
We caught our Regimene, to discuss the upcoming Winter Games with Ferrera during the heat of our spring training, and when he falls into that Italian half pipe, the gear he would be using.
Alex Ferrera (aka Hotdog Hans): Put all this on line

Gearjanki: You just came out of a very strong season. How are you moving towards 2026 Milan-Cortina Games?
Alex pharyra: Surely the Olympic year feels strong. I know that my competition is fierce and standing. Therefore, I am not taking a breath for that case or resting on my praise, because they are very good. But I am strongly ahead in this Olympic Games. And this is my last. I am going to give it my everything. I am all in

Are there any contestants you are looking exclusively closely?
Yes. It is always changing from weather to weather. But especially going this season, there are two Kiwi boys named Finale Melville Evece and Luke Herold. And they are both people to look out. They are children. This is strange. He is 16 and 19 years old. And I am 30 years old. And they are very good. I wish I was good when I was of his age.
And then, of course, some Americans, Nick Gipper, Birk Irving, and some Canadian, Brendon McKay, and some others. Surely standing competition.
Birk is a calm man and a great skier. In addition, another Colorado native is, isn’t it?
Birk is one of my good friends. He is a wonderful team partner. He is just a good person, and we enjoy a lot together. So I am excited to compete with him. And I hope we are in the team together. And I hope that we do podium together in one or two in a particular order. All this is good with me.
What is your training for these games so far?
I think the training varies from the diet season to the weather. Currently, we are going in summer in the spring, so everyone is trying to enjoy the hot weather and get out a little more.
We have gym time on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. We have to biking or cycling on Thursday and then there are yoga and sprint on Tuesday. In the midst of all that, there is Trumpolin. An airbag has a ramp rollerblading, and also in a foam pit. There is a water ramp, airbagging on the ski.
And, yes, a lot of running, riding bikes, hiking, sauna, steam room, hot tub, physiotherapy and carnopactic therapy. Just anything that is going to help me and he is going to fix me, I am in it. So it is like a training that is going into it [competition] Now.
Honestly, it feels very fun.
It is a lot of fun. It’s a good thing. This is really difficult when you are so throat that you can barely walk. But, you know, those days are less and far away, which is good. You just have to take everything with positivity and go for it.
Are you still receiving a skiing in this summer, or are you completely hot weather training mode?
We were actually done about three weeks ago with a camp in Mammath, California. And then we have Mount Hood, Ore, in mid -June for about two or three weeks. They will have snow, so we are back on ice there. Then, in September, the US ski team will usually go somewhere in New Zealand or Southern Hemisphere.
You know, I had a lot of friends who lived outside their suitcases and used to travel weekly around the world, and I am definitely a part of that program. Not that much, but I still love it.

Generally, are you the most excited for your previous games?
I am excited for the opportunity. And I mean this is my last, my last storm, and I have not found anything to lose.
Just going with all the good vibes, a positive attitude, working very hard, and I am excited to give it to all of them in front of the world platform. Do it.
Alex Ferrera: One with its gear

When we asked Ferrera about the gear used in competitions, we did not expect such intensive and brief response.
He said, “I am a gear radical, because in skiing and golf, you need to perform your gear at a very highest level, and the little details make the biggest difference,” he said. “I take [my gear] Super seriously … you should be one with gear so that you can become your best. ,
He accelerated the following list from above his head, rapidly and in more detail than any athlete, this writer has interviewed anytime. This friend knows his equipment.
Alex Ferrera Gear List
- Volcal Revolt 84 (173 cm)
- Marker V-Works Binding: “They are going to be a variation of juster … They sit a few millimeters less based on a ski, aka is less than snow than any other binding in the world, which is really good. I have been prototypes and testing it for the last two months, and it’s great.”
- Velos Daelbelo 130 boots: “There are some custom modifications, which means that we take the heel of 3 mm down so that you can put a metal plate there so that none of the plastic is chewed.”
- Custom-made silicone boot board (video above): “So my boot liner probably sits like 30% soaking compared to the normal effect you will agree.”
- Crypton 24.5 Liners: “They are not really no longer make this liner, which is such shame.”
