A major twist has emerged in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case as his childhood friend Akash Sharma made shocking revelations in an exclusive interview with ABP News. Akash claimed Raja had confided in him that Sonam, his wife and prime accused in the murder, had insisted they remain physically distant until they visited the Kamakhya Devi temple in Assam.
“Raja told me Sonam said they would not consummate the marriage until they completed the Kamakhya Devi darshan,” Akash said. He added that Raja had no prior plans to travel to Shillong but was convinced by Sonam under the pretext of fulfilling a religious vow.
Akash suspects the trip was a trap, carefully planned to execute Raja. “What seemed like a honeymoon was actually a pre-scripted plot for murder,” he said.
Sonam Inspired By Crime Patrol, Humraaz
Akash also believes Sonam might have drawn inspiration from crime shows and films. “She watched a lot of Crime Patrol. There’s a scene in the movie Humraaz where a wife tells her husband that they must stay apart for a month for a vow. It looks like Sonam used a similar excuse, spiritual belief, to create distance and set the stage for murder.”
He further stated that Raja, a regular gym-goer for two years, was physically strong and could have easily defended himself against one or two attackers. However, the killers were armed, which made resistance futile.
Calling the act not just betrayal but a “well-thought-out conspiracy,” Akash demanded capital punishment for the accused. “They should be hanged,” he said.
This chilling testimony adds a new layer to the ongoing investigation, painting the murder not as a sudden crime of passion but a calculated and cold-blooded act.
