Alex Palu has continued his major run in this season by taking a pole in mid-ohio ahead of Arrow McLaren’s Christian Lundguard.
Lundgard was two-year-old range compared to Palu, but the pair was in the third one at a distance of the next driver, Kiffin Simpson. Simpson’s third place will be his best position in Indycar, which he managed to score by sacrificing Kyle Kirkwood in Round Two.
Nolan Seagal Driving for Arrow McLaren will also begin in its best qualifying position in the fourth.
Kirkwood is the only other race winner in Palu 2025 times and will range seventh in the race. Clearly angry with the result, there is still a chance to overcome the situation.
Last year’s race winner, Pato O’Ward joined Kirkwood, was knocked out as a surprise and finished in Round One in Group One. It will start from 15th.
In another shock for the Penky team, the three drivers of the team struggled throughout the session and no one made it in two rounds.
Joseph Newgarden is the most early Penky car in 18th, while Scott McLoglin and Will Power will start side-by-side in the 21st and 22nd respectively.
