India’s T20 International captain Suryakumar Yadav has done sports hernia surgery in Germany. Yadav himself shared the news on social media, posted a photo of a surgery on Instagram with caption: “Life update: Surgery was done for a sports hernia in the lower right stomach. I am grateful to share after a smooth surgery, I am already on the road for recovery. Can’t wait to come back”.
This is the second time in two years when the Mumbai batsman has to undergo sports hernia surgery. Earlier, he also underwent surgery in January 2024. Along with this, he underwent ankle surgery in December 2023 last year.
Suryakumar Yadav played his last T20I match against England at the Wankhedi Stadium in Mumbai on 2 February 2025. Although he depicted in the 2025 Indian Premier League after the England T20I series, his last international appearance was in that match against England.
Suryakumar Yadav is an excellent T20 batsman. He is the captain of India’s T20 International Team. And it is believed that he will lead the team in the T20 World Cup to be held in 2026. So far, he has played a total of 121 international matches for India in all formats. And scored 3379 runs in them.
