Impressive centuries by star opener Yashsvi Jaiswal and Captain Shubman Gill inspired India for a 359/3 commanding score of 1 day of 1 Test against England.

Hundreds of India of Captain Shubman Gill and Yashsavi Jaiswal scored 359 runs for 359 in stumps on the early day of the first Test against England here on Friday.
Jaiswal (101) brought his fifth Test hundred just before tea, reached milestones in 144 balls with 16 fours and six.
Gill (127 not out), meanwhile, reached his centenary in the last session of the day, marked a memorable beginning for his captaincy tenure.
With tones, Gill joined an elite group of Indians – Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar and Virat Kohli – who scored goals in their first test as captain for centuries.
Jaiswal and Gill stitched KL Rahul (42) and debutant B Sai Sudarson (0) in quick succession just before the lunch break, stitched together for a significant 129 run stand for the third wicket for the third wicket.
Vice-Capten Rishabh Pant was batting at 65, when the stumps were called, Gill was giving it to the company.
For England, Skipper Ben Stokes (2/43) took two wickets.
