Officials said that New Delhi, 7 (PTI) A minor girl died on Saturday under suspicious circumstances at Nehru Vihar in Northeast Delhi, in which police suspected sexual harassment based on initial medical comments.
A senior police officer said, “On receiving the PCR call at Dayalpur police station at 8:41 pm, a team was sent to the street number 2 in Nehru Vihar, which found that the girl’s father had already shifted her to the awakened Chandra Hospital. He was declared dead in the hospital.”
“Doctors found bruises on his face and indicated possible sexual harassment,” the official said.
He said that the police have registered a case under Section 6 of Protection from the relevant sections of the Indian Judge (BNS) and the Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
“Many teams have been deployed to gather evidence and locate the accused,” he said. PTI SSJ Ari
