The Prime Minister has Talked to President Trump After America’s attacks on Iran.
But, in the end, the call already demanded yes or no answer.
This is not to say that it cannot happen in the coming days and weeks.
The British government is telling that when it was already told what Washington was about to do, this part was not taken and it was not asked.
And so, asking President Trump, asking the Prime Minister not to ask what would be included in Britain, for example, American warfare aircraft would be authorized to use the UK military base in Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
After repeatedly pressing for “de-size” as a Sir Kire Stmper, and the legitimacy of the involvement, the questions being raised privately within the government feels that it may be difficult to yes to a request to help the White House.
But it is not difficult to say that even after months of efforts to develop a good relationship with President Trump.
Washington is acting alone and selecting the US directly to select his aircraft, which meant that there was no need for a large scale, binary decision from Sir Kire.
But, it depends on what, how and when Iran chooses the option of vengeance, some of these businesses may come back soon.
For now, however, how should the UK approach should be evaluated?
In short, the government has followed the US, but it is not specificly supporting the means.
In other words, it does not want an nuclear armed Iran.
But neither is saying that it supports the means of trying to overcome that result of Washington – Bombing Tehran’s atomic facilities.
Conservatives see it as equality and “moral cowardice”.
On Friday, Foreign Secretary David Lami, along with France, Germany and the European Union, met Iran’s Foreign Minister in Geneva, Switzerland – but President Trump was publicly dismissing these efforts.
A day later, and The attacks started.
As he did, US Secretary Marco Rubio spoke to Lammy by phone.
He met in Washington a few days ago.
The Foreign Secretary has again spoken to Abbas Araghchi, unlike his Irani.
The UK is encouraging Iran to talk directly to the US.
Iran is making it clear for the days that it will not talk to America while it is being killed by Israeli.
And Lemy has also spoken to Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Sar, for a diplomatic solution and pressed the matter to Egypt and Cyprus’s foreign ministers – and then spoke to Rubio again.
The status of the UK, now at least, is clear – the government believes that a diplomatic solution from here is the best way to secure a long -term Iran.
But the US did not choose to listen to this argument from London, Paris, Berlin and other places before its airstrikes.
The question is whether they are now.
We can expect a minister, perhaps a minister, to face questions on all this in Commons on Monday afternoon.
And on Tuesday, the Prime Minister, President Trump and other Western leaders will gather in the Netherlands for the annual summit of NATO military alliance. They will have a lot to discuss.
