I was born in the 90s and hit the peak adolescence in the mid -2000s. Even though it was a problematic era for several reasons (I am sure ‘body positivity’ was an unheard of and almost immense concept), I still look back on it. After this, I did not know that I would become a beauty editor, but I knew that I liked to steal my mother’s perfumes, apply odd Mary’s lipstick samples, and covering my organs in blue raspberry-beautiful body glitter (IYKYK).

One of my favorite Y2K beauty trends was glitter lip gloss. The iconic and eye -catching, I remember that some of my favorite celebs were seen to be photographed with shiny, shimmering lips on the cover of my most collected teen magazines. I wanted the trend. I remember begging my mother that I would buy me a flickering pink lip shine so that I could look like Britney Spears. She acquires, and I wore it continuously.
