A by -election, called after an improvement, had left the post two weeks after being selected by a UK councilor, won by conservatives.

Jeremy Part won Thursday’s competition for vacant Gunosal and Aclashelle seat at Staffardshire County Council after obtaining 1,689 votes (44.4%).

The Green Party finished second with 1,037 votes (27.3%), followed by improvement on 938 votes (24.7%) and labor on 140 votes (3.7%). Voting was 34.8%.

The seat was evacuated in May by the Reform’s Wen Titley in May after facing criticism on a post on Facebook in March, in which the Navy was called to use the Navy to try to reach Britain and use “using gun fire” for the purpose of drowning “.

Titley has not addressed the post, which has since been removed, but said he was resigning for “personal reasons”.

The results of the by -election abandoned the improvement with 48 councilors on the authority, a clear majority, with conservatives at 11 and Greens, Labor and Stafford Boro Independents with an app.

Pert was an eccleshall councilor for eight years, until he was beaten to seat by Titley by Titley in the May local elections.

He served as a cabinet member in the conservative administration and is also a leader of the current opposition group at Stafford Boro Council.

After his victory, he paid tribute to the election team and described the employees as a “well -oil machine”.

He said: “None of us had expected to see the by-election so soon and none of us wanted this. Thank you everyone for coming out and voting.

“The work starts from tomorrow. I have been selected by the residents of Acleshelle and Ganosal and I am here to support them.”
