President Trump broke from his tariff letter format to tell the Brazilian President that he plans to impose a 50% tariff on any and all Brazilian products “sent to the United States starting from 1 August.

Trump posted a letter to social media on Wednesday afternoon, his 22nd letter this week. However, this letter clearly departed from others posted by Trump. All other letters were the same, telling the countries that the aim of the new tariff was to fix the trade imbalance with the US.

The letter to Brazil, however, was about Brazil’s politics. Trump wrote that Brazil’s tariff is “required in part to improve the serious injustice of the current regime, and especially Trump called” Witch Hunting “against former Brazilian President Jare Bolsono.

Bolsoro is currently on the test for allegations that he and allies had planned a coup in an attempt to stay in power, as there was a plan for a coup after being lost in a reunioning bid against the distant president. Left Lula da Silva in 2022,

Trump has long praised Bolsoro, and he continued to do so in his letter.

Trump wrote that he “knew and settled with former President Jair Bolsoro, and respected him very much,” and said that the way the former leader has been treated in Brazil, “is” an international insult “.

Wednesday’s tariff letter follows a declaration of Trump earlier this week that members of BRICS Alliance, including Brazil, will be subject to additional 10% tariffs. It was not clear whether the tariff rate is proposed to Trump in addition to a 50% rate.

Brazil hosted a summit of BRICS countries earlier this week, including the original BRICS members – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – as well as new members, including Egypt and Indonesia.

At that summit, Trump’s BRICS Tariff in response to the danger, Da Silva opened fire on Trump.

“We don’t want an emperor, we are sovereign countries,” Lula said in a speech. “This is not right for the President of a country to threaten the size of the United States to the world online.”

Tariffs are the result of months to see and wait as Trump decided what to do with the global tariff of that day. That day, he announced tariffs in almost every country, which had rates ranging from 10 to 50%.

After investors panic and the stock markets fell, Trump returned his tariff, in which he called the 90-day “stagnation” till 9 July, during which all those tariffs will be held at 10%.

Trump had said that he would conduct tariff deals with countries by 9 July, but in this way only two have been announced. Trump set a time limit on 1 August this week. Instead of announcing additional deals, they have started posting these letters.

The 50% proposed tariff on Wednesday is a massive jump from 10% tariff Trump declared for Brazil on 2 April. It is also not intended to fix a trade deficit – in 2024, the US has A. Business surplus with Brazil,
