Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday Announced that the Government Resolutions (GRS) Issued on April 16 and June 17 Concerning the Three-Language Policy has been canceled. He added that a new committee, LED by Dr. Narendra Jadhav, will be formed to review the matter.
Addressing a press conference, CM fadnavis informed that in the cabinet meeting help on Sunday, the decision to form the committee was reached. He added that based on the report submitted by the committee, the state government will make a final decision on the implementation of the language policy.
The committee, headed by the former planning commission member Dr. Narendra Jadhav, will prepare a report on the trilingual policy formula, keeping the interest of Marathi students at the center.

The April 16 Gr Had Proposed Hindi to be a Compulsory Third Language in Marathi and English Schools for Classes 1 to 5. Following this, a revised government resolution on June 17 was isesed, whereby marathi has been made made mandatory in all schools Hindi is optional.
