Vivo has started a teaser campaign for its upcoming X fold 5Which is going to be according to a rumor recently Unveiled on 10 JulyThe phone will claim unprecedented dust and water resistance ratings for a foldable.

We are talking about IP5X dust resistance, which defeats Samsung’s IP4X, as well as a trio of water resistance ratings: IPX8, IPX9 and IPX9+. IP5X means that the phone will not be able to completely stop the entry of dust, but “it should not enter enough amount to interfere with safe operation”, according to the IP code definitions.

Regarding the IPX9+, Vivo says that you will be able to turn and reveal the X fold 5 in 1 meter 1,000 times, which is definitely impressive, even if we are not sure what will be the case of use for it in the real world.

Finally, so far no other foldable has received the IPX9 certification, which is about safety from water jets (IPX8 is about immersion in water).

X fold 5 is also teased Light book-style foldableAnd will be introduced in green as you can see in the shot above.
