Andrati’s driver, Kil Kirkewood, felt certain that, without a snap of the overstaire, we would celebrate his pole position instead of colon Harta after qualifying in Indy Toronto on Saturday.
For his final run, his informally, Kirkwood suffered a snap of the overstaire that ruined his preparation. While darting in pits for more fuel, he then missed the cut-off to set his last lap time, which meant that Harta had no competition for the pole and set the only minus one minute lap time of the session.
Kirkwood failed to set a single flying lap time in Fast Six, meaning that his record lap is 1: 04.5 which is more than Harta’s 0: 59.4 to five seconds.
Back out of the car and back into Padock, Kirkwood spoke to FS1 and confidently explained: “We definitely gave a pole without just a doubt.
“This has happened to me where I have just received a huge snap. It is subject to steering and once I pass by when it matters to the pole and it sits and I get a huge snap.
“It just looks like I’m throwing [them] away. Throwing left and right poles on road courses.
“If I am getting honest then one did not feel very good. So we will come back, we will see it, find out what exactly happened.
In a part of bad luck, Kirkwood has seen any expectation for the championship fight, as Alex Palu and Chip Gansey continue an unprecedented run of the results.
Going second in the championship in iowa, a poor qualifying Sinak mixed with tire failure and finishing 18th in the field to finish 275 means that he now ranks fourth behind Synk 275 winners, Pato O’Ward, and Mid-Ohio winners, Scott Dixen.
With the very fast -looking Andarette in Toronto, Kirkwood looked ready to take another pole in this season, which was after achieving its first in the long middle.
Disappointment, Kirkwood were able to show some happiness that at least it was his Andhrati team partner who took the pole and did not lose the team the start position that he had dropped out of practice 2, where he showed a major car.
Speaking on his team partner, Kirkwood said: At least someone made it for this to get a poll there. Super Happy for Team [and] 26 is happy for the car, but [I’m] Fast Six was very disappointed with that performance.
“I tried to come to the lane of the pit because I knew that the lap was already shot. As ‘can we get fuel and try and go out for the other?’
“In Hindite, it was the best idea to get [and] Go for the pole, but it may just spend us on an additional few positions because I did not even lap. ,
There is some harmony for Kirkwood as he was again struggling again with Marcus Ericsson with the slowest Andratement.
Problems had to be faced before the session because their mechanics ran to fix a break issue, the Swedish driver Group managed to get through two, before he again finished in two and would start from the eighth.
While there is not a bad situation, his last lap was about two seconds from Harta.
