Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who owns the social media platform X, feels that the hashtags are ugly and want to get rid of them. However, not in completeness. On Thursday, Rocketman in his official account took people to tell that the hashtag would be banned from advertisements on X. “Since yesterday, Esthetic nightmares that Hashtag will be banned from advertisements ????,” Musk informed. The 53 -year -old, who brought enough changes to the Twitter platform, killing the iconic blue bird, starting membership and migration, now users want users to stop using mythological hashtags from their advertisements.

Hashtag original
The hashtag on Twitter began in August 2007 when a user Chris Mesina proposed a consideration with the first hashtag, #Barcamp on 23 August. This feature achieved traction and officially integrated into the platform in 2008, enabling users to tag and group related positions for easy discovery.

It is worth noting that the pound key or hashtag first appeared on the Internet on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) in 1988, where it was used to label channels.
Regular hatred
This is not the first example where Musk has publicly expressed her despision of the hashtag.
Last year, Againing with his Groke AI Chatbot, AI, developed by his own company, said for some reasons that the hashtags, at least, was a better thing in the past, at least.
Reason 1: The system no longer needs them.
Reason 2: They look ugly.
Does X not require a hashtag?
When Musk, on Thursday, announced the ban of the hashtag from the advertisements of the platform, a curious user asked Grocke, AI Chatbot, if the hashtags were useful or if Kasturi was correct, he gave no purpose for his “system”.
“Yaaaay !!! @grok Do you still recommend us to use them in some of your posts? Got any suggestion to use effectively?” A user, responding to the announcement of the Musk, quizzed the grouke.
In response to Query, AI disagreed with its owner’s claims.
“Yes, the hashtags are still useful for regular positions on X despite advertising restrictions starting from June 27, 2025. They promote visibility and engagement. Use 1-2 relevant hashtags per post to avoid looking spamy. Research trending with devices such as X search, ala hashtag.” AI said.
“Attach with the hashtag communities and post during the peak time for maximum access. Turn the hashtag to stay fresh and avoid filter. Put the hashtag mid-tweet for better engagement or finally for a cleaner look. While Elon Musk has criticized the hashtag, the data supports their effectiveness.
