- Rumors have swirled about whether or not Jeremy Allen White is dating co-star Molly Gordon or Ayo Edebiri. All three are publicly single as of June 2025.
- Several of The Bear’s stars are married, including Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliot, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson.
- Season 4 of The Bear premiered on Hulu on June 25, 2025.
The Bear’s stressed-out chefs typically aren’t lucky in love. Most of the characters are married to their jobs, to the detriment of their personal lives—who can forget the freezer monologue that unintentionally caused a split in Season 2’s cliffhanger finale?
On June 25, the embattled Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and striving chef de cuisine Syd (Ayo Edebiri) returned to the kitchen in the Season 4 premiere of the Hulu hit. Fans have plenty to say about the fictional couples they hope for or hate, but the cast behind the high-intensity drama have also fired up their share of real-life romances.
White, the show’s star, has been the subject of various dating rumors since his reported split from Rosalía sometime in 2024. He and the Grammy-winner never publicly confirmed they were dating, but they attended several events together—including the 2024 Prelude to the Olympics party, where Vogue captured footage of the pair hanging around a claw machine game.
Other cast members are going strong with relationships that pre-date the show. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays Richard “Richie” Jerimovich on The Bear, is married to Ukrainian photographer Yelena Yemchuck, with whom he shares two daughters.
Their characters’ fates may still hang in the balance, but the real-life love stories of The Bear’s dysfunctional found family are more concrete. Below, catch up on the cast’s off-screen romances.

Future The Fantastic Four: First Steps star Ebon Moss-Bachrach is a taken man. The actor has been with his wife, photographer Yelena Yemchuck, since the 1990s. The New Yorker reported that the pair met via mutual friends while both were in relationships, and found their way to each other after their respective breakups. They have two daughters, 18-year-old Sasha and 15-year-old Maribelle.
Yemchuk hails from Kyiv, Ukraine, but grew up in the United States. She told Vogue in 2022 that her home country “is a huge part of” her artistic identity. “Even though [my family] immigrated to the United States when I was eleven, I have never felt anything but Ukrainian,” she explained. “In my mid-twenties, when I started traveling to Ukraine regularly, I started to understand my language in photography. I spent time in Kyiv throughout those years, and it really helped me understand who I was.”
Besides her decorated career as a fashion and documentary photographer, she’s also dabbled in directing. She helmed the music videos for The Smashing Pumpkins’ tracks “Zero” and “Thirty-Three”, starring then-boyfriend Billy Corgan. In 2022, she published a photography book, Odesa, featuring portraits of the titular city’s inhabitants taken between 2015 and 2019.
30 years into her relationship with Moss-Bachrach, the visual artist is as madly in love as ever. “I am obsessed with my kids and my husband,” she said in a 2017 interview with Vogue Italia. “Yes[,] I for sure get obsessed! I am a romantic, I love to love.”
The pair have made several red-carpet appearances together, including at the 2024 Emmys, where the actor scored his second Primetime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, and the 2025 Golden Globes.
Abby Elliott & Bill Kennedy

Abby Elliott is one half of a rare successful couple on The Bear: she plays Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto, wife to the well-adjusted Pete (Chris Witaske). The pair became new parents in the course of Season 3. Off-screen, Elliott is also in a happy union, having been married to writer-producer Bill Kennedy since 2016.
The two met on the set of 2014’s Sex Ed (which Kennedy wrote), but didn’t really connect until after making the movie, according to an Entertainment Tonight feature. “I knew I wanted to marry Bill right away,” Elliott told the publication, recounting his proposal one year after their first date. “I had a secret Pinterest board with our wedding all planned out.” They wed in her childhood church, holding the reception at her parents’ home.
Elliott, a Saturday Night Live alumna, became a first-time mom during the pandemic. She made an Instagram post on October 23, 2020, revealing her daughter’s name is Edith Pepper Kennedy. The couple welcomed their second child, a son, on June 12, 2023. He’s his father’s namesake: William “Billy” Joseph Lunney Kennedy IV. And yes, her real-life pregnancy was written into the show for Season 2, The New York Times reported.
Kennedy served as a writer and producer on House of Cards and Apple TV’s ongoing cable-news drama The Morning Show. Both programs landed him Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Drama Series. The Duke alum was also co-executive producer on Hulu’s Tell Me Lies, according to his IMDB profile.
Liza Colón-Zayas & David Zayas

Like co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colón-Zayas said “I do” well before she stepped into the high-stress kitchen of The Bear. The Emmy Award winner met her partner David Zayas, an actor and former police officer, sometime in the ‘90s. They wed in 1998. He has two kids from a previous marriage, he shared with HoboTrashCan in a 2008 interview.
Zayas played Detective Angel Bautista in almost 100 episodes of Dexter. He’s also had a slate of roles in other TV favorites like Gotham, Bloodline, and Blue Bloods. But fans might also recognize him from The Bear—that’s right, Zayas plays the husband of his real-life wife’s character, Tina Marrero, on the show.
As Colón-Zayas tells it, the showrunners had the idea to put him on the show. At first, somebody pitched him as her character’s ex, “and then that got me thinking, but I didn’t want to get too deep into it,” she told Variety. “Then he ends up being written as this beautiful, decent, loving, good man, which I was really happy to see.”
“I honestly didn’t expect it,” she continued. “It speaks to how even I have been programmed to look at my community. Like, why can’t I have that? Why can’t that be the norm? There’s struggle and there’s mess, but there’s love, and in its own way, stability.”
The actors share one child, David Zayas Jr. According to his Instagram, the younger Zayas also works in the creative sphere as a theatre director.
Matty Matheson & Trish Spencer

Chef-turned-actor Matty Matheson is going strong with his wife of over 10 years, Trish Spencer. The pair were high-school sweethearts—he even gifted her a guitar on the one-year anniversary of their first date, according to Toronto Life. In August 2014, they tied the knot in their native Ontario.
If you thought his humorous portrayal of Neil Fak seemed too authentic to be a character, you’re partly right. Besides having his share of real-life experience working in restaurants, he also brings Fak’s creative energy to his day-to-day routine. Case in point: his proposal to Spencer on April Fools’ Day. Per Toronto Life, he pretended to cut his finger in the kitchen and called her down. Instead of saying “April fools!,” however, he presented Spencer with the ring and popped the question.
“The best part is that he didn’t even know it was April Fools’,” she told the outlet.
While her husband tears up the small screen, Spencer works outside of the entertainment industry. She’s a businesswoman, part-owner of alternative wedding boutique LoversLand in Toronto. According to a recent Rolling Stone interview, the couple also share three children: Macarthur, Rizzo, and Ozzy.
Matheson has their names tattooed on him, the first hint that his love for his kids runs deep. “I have heart-to-hearts with my kids every day,” he told the outlet, noting that he grew up in a time and place where mental health wasn’t discussed.
Family is important in every aspect of his life—for example, he explained that his restaurant Rizzo’s honors his wife, who’s Italian. “All my restaurants now aren’t some idea I conjured up but are based on everyone in my life,” the actor-producer explained.
Jeremy Allen White

As of The Bear’s Season 4 premiere, Jeremy Allen White is not officially dating anyone. The actor sparked relationship rumors with co-star Molly Gordon, who plays his on-screen love interest Claire, when the two were spotted kissing in photos published by TMZ last September. While this seemingly confirmed his breakup with his last rumored girlfriend, Motomami hitmaker Rosalía, neither White nor Gordon confirmed they were in a relationship.
The Booksmart actress sidestepped questions about the PDA pictures in a June 2025 interview with Vanity Fair. “With the internet, I just think—I even see it in myself as a fan of things—we’re just a more judgmental society,” she said of the tabloid storm that followed the photos’ publication.
White’s last confirmed relationship was with his ex-wife, actress Addison Timlin. The pair met on a film set in 2008, when both were still teenagers. They wed in 2019 and share two daughters, Ezer Billie and Dolores Wild.

Like his co-star Matheson, White got a tattoo dedicated to his firstborn. “As my wife was telling me we were pregnant, my eyes were just on this hummingbird darting around [the backyard] the whole time. So, I got a little hummingbird [tattoo] for Ezer, our oldest daughter,” he told InStyle in 2022.
Timlin filed for divorce from White in May 2023, per People. She and White share joint custody of their daughters. As of February 2025, Timlin is dating filmmaker Cooper Raiff.
Ayo Edebiri

Edebiri is arguably one of The Bear’s biggest breakouts. Like co-star White, however, she keeps her romantic life out of the spotlight. While the Internet might be rooting for the pair to get together (on-screen and off) there’s never been any solid evidence of a relationship between the two. Edebiri, 29, has addressed her chemistry with White while talking about their friendship to Vanity Fair.
“Work can be a very intimate thing and a very personal thing and a very emotional thing, and I think when you’re also in industries that are creative or creative adjacent, I think there’s something that also invokes feelings of passion,” Edebiri explained in the 2024 profile. “Also, boy’s got some beautiful blue eyes. You know what I mean? Those are eyes you want to project onto.”
In 2022, comedian Colin Burgess posted an Instagram carousel of himself attending the Emmy Awards with Edebiri. He referred to her as his “gf [girlfriend]” in the post’s caption. He also made a now-deleted Valentine’s Day post about her in 2021, according to StyleCaster.
When rumors swirled that she was falling for White, actor-comedian Joel Kim Booster took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to debunk them in a now-deleted post. “I’ve known Ayo’s boyfriend for close to a decade and he is such a kind, smart, funny dude and y’all are being weird as shit,” he wrote to speculating fans in the post, which was republished by Elle. “Log off and make a real human friend I’m begging you.”
Edebiri never publicly revealed the name of the partner mentioned in Booster’s X post or confirmed her relationship status.
Molly Gordon

Molly Gordon is also publicly single, having not commented on rumors of a relationship with The Bear star White. The LA native has discussed how playing Claire on the show was her first time stepping into a love-interest role. “I’m always ‘the friend,’ ” she said in a 2025 Vanity Fair profile. “I’ve never played the romantic person. I was like, ‘Whoa, this is going to be a different experience.’”
While she’s returning to the small screen for Season 4 of the Hulu smash, don’t be surprised if she takes a break from on-camera work when the show wraps up. Gordon is an accomplished director, cowriting, codirecting, and starring in 2023’s indie darling Theater Camp. She’s also planning to make her solo directorial debut with A24 film Peaked, which she cowrote and is set to star in.
Lionel Boyce

The Bear’s Lionel Boyce appears to be single, having never publicly discussed being in a relationship. On the show, he plays sensitive pastry chef Marcus Brooks. He described his character’s arc as “this journey of discovery and falling in love with his work” in a 2024 interview with Deadline.
Before getting into acting, Boyce was a member of alternative hip-hop collective Odd Future. He’s also a longtime friend of rapper Tyler, the Creator, whom he met in a high school drama class. With Tyler, he’s co-founder of Bald Face Productions. Clearly, his work keeps him busy, which may be why he hasn’t gone public with a love in his life just yet.
