Medvedev is one of the only five active men players to win a major win, winning the 2021 US Open – but has lost five other major finals.
Former world number one is a hard -court expert – his six major finals are divided between the Australian Open and the US Open – but he has a recent record in Wimbledon.
He was stopped by the final champions Alakraj in both 2023 and 2024, who won the first set in last year’s meeting on the Center Court in last year’s meeting.
He prepared the hall finals for this year’s tournament, prepared by losing to the bucket in straight sets, and expecting another deep run in Wimbledon.
