Two -time defending champion Carlos Alakraj produced an impressive battle to remove Andre Rubalav and set up a Wimbledon Quarter Final against Britain’s Cameron Nori.
Alkaraj took a step to become only the fifth man in the open era, in which the Russian 14th (5-7) 6-3 6-3 6-4 6-4 on the roof of the Center Court to win three consecutive Wimbledon titles with a win of 6-4 6-4 6-4.
The 22 -year -old Spaniad achieved his only break point in both the second and third sets to turn the match around, before the same break of service again proved to be sufficient to end the commendable resistance of the rublev in the fourth.
Alakraj will face Nori for the semi -final place after British number three. To win in five sets.
