Philip Barbari’s key is qualifying for the US Open? He married his caddy.
Well, let’s be clear. The 26 -year -old Barbari first met Cloe Lettu in late 2023. A former standout barbury in the LSU and USGA Champion was running three years, not yet cutting the world rank. But then he earned the status for last year’s Canada swing on the PGA Tour America, and already with two events, Chloe to see in Alberta, Barbari asked her if she wanted to carry the bag.
“I think,” Chloe replied, who works in medical sales and had no pre -golf experience before dating Barbari.
It was quite good for Barbari, who found a stand bag, made it as light as possible and packed some extra snacks. Then he went out and not only made his first cut, but also finished 23rd.

Most of that strength came through failure. Barbari started just nine as a supporter in his first three years-and no weekend-on the head tourism, as they mostly cut their teeth on mini-tour. He must have been lying if he said that he did not think of changing career during that first year.
In fact, after returning home to Shreveport after a brief tenure in Dallas, Barbari took a part -time job in working for his father, Phil Senior, the owner of the Superior Grill, a Mexican restaurant chain with a Mexican restaurant chain in which New Orleans and Baton Rouge are also ranked. He went to just one or two shifts.
“I started below,” Barbari recalled. “Bassing table, setting tables, taking out the outside furniture. I got sick, I cut my finger, and after some long night I said, I am not cut out for it. I will get back to play.”
Barbari has always been a vipers, and last year he made some improvements with his ball-Hadatali after he started working with Chad Derby, who teaches out of David Toms Academy in Shrewport. He has also undergone a slight speed training with long -lasting Jack Smith. Barbari’s mental progress can be attributed to most of the chlo, which now divides her time for her husband and sells CPAP machines.
“He may have helped because of not having a golfer,” said Barbari. “She raises different things than those that are. If I am indecent, she will realize it and tell me. … I think we always find out small things to do better every week.
“And I definitely feel that I enjoy playing golf as much as I have ever done.”
Barbari, which is at number 1,000 in the world at Dot, PGA Tour is ending its best on America, showing a T -3 in Bogota, Columbia, in the Inter Rapidisimo Golf Championships, which was reduced to 36 holes due to weather. His US Open Final qualifier was also affected by storms in West Palm Beach, Florida last Monday. The first round in Emerald Tibba, 3-under 69, was more than 1 after 10 holes before rally to card. Barbari said: “We are not breaking the team soon at any time.”
